Default Diesel theft

Rite guys every now and then I get a few 5 gallon drums of red diesel dropped off for the heater in the workshop. I have a small yard which my house looks onto so normally have them sitting in it not on full view but never the less not inside.
I got one out the other day and it looked a little funny like it had water in so I left it standing on a 45 gallon drum at the workshop door to settle a couple of days so I could syphon the diesel out from the top however some bastard is away with it and thinking back I don't think this is the first time there's been the odd drum away. Needless to say I'll not be leaving it out again. So now iam thinking of leaving one standing there but putting something in it so it wrecks what ever it goes in. Any ideas what I can chuck in it that will do the job.

Just fill a drum with concrete, they'll get the message when they try and lift it.

Make a cocktail from what you have in the workshop? some fine filings would be good, and anything else u can add to it that a diesel engine won't like?

How about a rather toxic cocktail of:

nitromores paint stripper
turps
varnish
wood stain
washing up liquid
red dye
Battery acid

just try a mix of stuff that you wouldn't want in your fuel tank.

Even if you mixed a small amount of red diesel in with some of the stuff above so they can't tell.........

it needs to be something that will not massively alter the odour, so it isn't noticed

probably find if the scums engine gets damaged he can take you to court

I got warned by police fter poisoning my milk at uni as others were stealing it. I claimed i just left out of date milk making them sick and with no evidence they couldnt do anything, but they were adamant that if you deliberately poison even your own food, you can be charged if there is any chance someone else could use it, theft or not.

works well!! although the better blades to use are the thinner razor blades as they cut soo much deeper.

Why not just put some petrol in? Diesel is a lubricant to the moving parts of whatever it is used in as well as a fuel. Petrol strips the lubrication film away and causes metal on metal contact.

Thats why cars that are filled up with petrol by accident have a habit of knackering the diesel fuel injection pumps pretty quickly!
