Why not just put some petrol in? Diesel is a lubricant to the moving parts of whatever it is used in as well as a fuel. Petrol strips the lubrication film away and causes metal on metal contact.

Thats why cars that are filled up with petrol by accident have a habit of knackering the diesel fuel injection pumps pretty quickly!
