mk1 focus rs & fieata st queations
Right chaps thinking about putting my zt engine in either a mk1 focus rs or a
Fiesta st for a few reasons really but one just them being a much newer car than my mk3 fiesta's.but main question is ill be running cosworth managment now running this will this still allow me to use all the standard features of the car also i.e abs,air con ect or will there be any complications?
Cheers

If I was to do mine again I would use a focus, there are loads of parts out there to build a better spec car than a fiesta st, with the ecu side of it you can just leave the old ecu there
Cheers rob iv not looked into it fully yet mate but its defo swaying me towards one of the 2 over the mk3 mate,so how does it work with the focus engine ecu still in place but using cossie managment? Eml light on i pressume? Wich obviously wont be a problem to me but just trying to figure out what will be what
Stu-do you not think with a properly mapped engine it would be in correct range for emissions?

The Fiesta ST is generally seen as a bit of a pain to use aftermarket management with, what with it having canbus...the stock ECU controls the alarm, immobiliser, air con, clocks and so on, not to mention as standard its a drive by wire throttle. Getting everything working perfectly with aftermarket management is not an easy job, its doable but really rather different from older cars where the ECU dealt with the engine and everything else was essentially separate! You have to keep the stock ECU and splice in the one to run the engine, not as simple a wiring job as on older Fords!
If you wanted to speak about what you'd need to fit aftermarket management to one AND keeping all the standard features I'd probably try and speak to someone helpful at Jamsport (who have done a few throttle body conversions with aftermarket management and managed to keep standard features like the clocks fully functional).

Hhhmm ill hve to have a word then stu see what the mapping can get emisions down to,and ill have a read of the new mot changes at work tomorow cheers mate
So is the mk1 focus rs not on a canbus system? Yeah ill defo start to look into best way to use after market managment on a canbus system tho cheers mate

most modern car like the 2 youve mentioned run everything through the ecu like interior lights , alarms etc etc so its just easier to leave it in the car and bypass with a aftermarket ecu

Cheers stu looking into it now its more the vosa road side emissions checks id be worried about mate
Paul-cheers mate and yeah i know about that mate as our systems use it but its just finding a way of using aftermarket managment while still using the standard managment as i pressume both stanard and aftermarket sensors would have to be used? And as im sure your aware can bus uses differnt voltage
