Hi all,

Went about fitting a Bailey turbo damper to my Mk1 Escort YB project yesterday! It's running a T3 Turbo that was rebuilt by CRTurbos bolted to a 2wd exhaust manifold! When I bolt the two washers onto the turbo hanging bracket I seem to be running out of thread for the upper rose joint to even reach the bottom rose joint.....

Has anybody come accross this problem before? Is it just a case of getting a longer threaded rose joint?

 

The hanger i had was fitted with a bearing for an 8mm bolt - you would have to make sure what size threaded part

That is a turbo Hanger NOT Damper.

They resonate around 3500-4000rpm

mine didnt resonate on my 3dr at all mate - and gonna be getting one for the saph soon too

 

Must just be on a 4i...

 

just go on ebay and get a longer rose joint plus as said its not a damper as it has no movement in it to dampen its a turbo hanger to take some on the weight off the manifold / manifold studs

 

I have heard them do it on other 3drs and taxis's so not just the 4i

Sorry for the confusion.... seems to have started an on-going feud!

Will go on the bay and go in search for a longer rose joint for my Hanger!

 

I'll measure mine when I get into garage al, yours is most likely for a t35

 

I'm with the tall guy on this one.. I've had two of those bailey hangers on two different cars and they both made a horrible racket at certain revs
