Question Oil grade for 2000 Mondeo Mk2 1.8 16v Zetec-E 119K

Hi, i'm a newbie to the site and just got my first ford and it's a 2000 (W) Mk2 Mondeo 1.8 16V Zetec-E with 119000 on the clock.

This car did not come with the manual and i'm not sure whats the best oil required for this engine.

I'm think it's 5/30W, but some tell me it's 5n/30W and some say I can just wack 10/40W in it and would be ok but i'm not so sure now.

what would be most ideal oil grade for this engine type?

Kind Regards

Jamie

Default

always an argument but when the miles are higher i up the thickness i run 10w40 in my transits nevery any probs never use oil

the way i see it is a worn engine has higher tolerances to fill, more blowby the rings, lubricating the blowby can only exagerate the wear

sorry for spelling its sunday and i have a hangover lol
