Default My 1 /18 Cars

Here are mine in simple Ikea glass cabinets, no lights in them as the room never gets used,

All cars are Autoart, UT or Mini Champs and the Eddie Stobart truck my son got me for christmas which is Corgi.

Nice collection. I've just bought three of those same cabinets as my collection badly needs hosuing properly, although I'm trying to add extra shelves to double the capacity.

Easy way to double the capacity,i got some wire rope clamps from Scewfix, they do two sizes but i can't remember the size i got.You will need 16 clamps per cabinet, fix the clamps to the metal corner rods of cabinet about halfway,i then had 4mm thick glass cut, place some foam pads on the corners.

I can fit 24 1/18 models in each cabinet.
Any questions just ask.

Fantastic thanks for that, how much was the glass to be cut?

Oh and where did you get all those Mk1 RS2000's?

That was what I was looking for, something that would grip the rods and support the glass!

I got the glass cut at a local glaziers, think i paid Ł12 or Ł15 for 4 pieces.I'll measure them so you get an idea of the size (might be worth fitting the clamps first then make a cardboard template).
I modifiy my 1/18th models myself, you can buy all the decals/wheels etc off Ebay.

Size of glass i have is 36 cm by 32 & a half cm,be worth making a cardboard template to try after you have fitted the clamps.
