Default Paint systems, whats suitable for home use?

I have some panels Id like to spray at home. I have a compressor and a decent gun but I'm a little out of the loop on paint systems.

Cellulose is old and not terribly compatible with anything newer but room temp cures and leaves a decent finish from the gun.

What is Acrylic such as one gets in rattle cans?

2k - used that before, again room temp cure but getting hard to get hold of, obvious safety concerns, especially as I live in a residential area now

1k - no experience but seems safer? gather however it needs a 2k laquer over the top, which sort of defeats the point?

Water based - I believe you need an oven to cure these?

So whats available I can spray at home, at room temp, without killing my neighbours dog?

Cheers!

1k dont need laquer over the top and it more for wagon bodys ect these days not cars ,if ur after 2k as long you say its not for a car they will sell you it loop hole,

water base is air drying so you dont need a booth for it ,but still need laquer over the top with 2k clearcoat

if spraying at home id be more worried bout killing ur self than ur neighbours dog

Ive got an air fed mask from the last time and I could borrow a second compressor to run that but its the escaping fumes the concern me.

Whats water based like to spray with? I guess if its just the clearcoat its only one spraying operation in 3......

Its flat white by the way, if that makes any difference....

Waterbased is fine for painting without a booth, ive done a good few jobs in my own garage just takes more time than it would in a booth.

When im painting in the booth i just apply the 3 coats of base and put the air dryers on it, but in the garage it takes a bit more time to flash off with a heat gun ( you must make sure its totally dry before applying the 2k laquer)

I was a bit worried when the waterbased was introduced a few years ago to replace the 2k but to be honest i think its better, it covers better and i think the matches are slightly better aswel.

It its just straight white you are wanting tho, what i use it STANDOFLEET 2k which is a very good qualit paint. I tend to use that on the commercials that i paint aswel as my vans ect,

hope this helps
