Default anyone problems with AP big brake set

i was looking on the mitsubishi LR...a lot of these guys saying AP discs warping to much. and they find the calipers dont bite hard enough...

this was also told by a lot of guys on a dutch forum.

i keep it hearing (reading) from a lot of guys on different forums....

is AP really that bad....they find brembo also not good enough..

on this site i only hear good things about AP...

so are there some people which has problems or arent happy with AP

im just curious...

Wim,
You really are a muppet .

1. How do you know the APs were fitted correctly on the Evos (as in the hub faces meticulously cleaned - this is ESSENTIAL)?
2. The Evos have problems with warping the hubs.
3. The Evos have wheel-bearing problems.
4. Just fucking fit them to the car you complete joey and stop asking the dumbest questions in the history of dumb questions .
5. You car is NOT an Evo (in case up hadn't noticed ).
6. Find a Cossie owner (that hasn't fitted EBC pads ) that has had a problem with APs .
7. You don't deserve good brakes .
8. You're giving Dutch people a bad name .

no its not what you asked...

youre making a lot of fuss over nothing..

what if 5 people tell you on here that there bad brakes.. then what ?
you wont fit them and send them back ?? get real ..

you already KNOW that there good.. otherwise you wouldnt have bought them ?

no one is complaining about AP brakes on Fords..

all other stuff you find is concerning jap crap ..

so whats the point of this stupid question ?

it could be only valid if you asked this BEFORE you bought the brakes..

Problems with AP discs warping?

It'll be nothing to fo with AP at all. Have had no problems with mine or my brother's AP setups on our cossies ever.

I have never heard of one single cossie owner warping AP discs on a regular basis, and we all use them on track.

Believe me, no-one uses brakes more aggresively than Mike, and if he's had no problems, you'll be fine.

PMSL - can't believe these guys aren't rating AP and Brembo - the two biggest and best aftermarket/race brake manufacturers in the world.

Wim - you're over-reacting.

Mike's only taking the piss because that is his way of giving a straight answer

Put it this way. AP and Brembo are used by WRC teams all over the world, and with good reason.

Don't believe a lot of stuff you read on the net - it's mostly written by people compensating for cocking things up and blaming someone else.

e.g. It applies to ANY disc, but not cleaning the hub face thoroughly when moutning the discs can cause the discs to run slightly unevenly - that'd be a much more likely cause of warping than it being a certain brand.

However, what are the chances of someone going on the internet, and telling people that they warped their discs because they didn't fit them properly?

Wim,
I'm taking the piss, because this has already been answered in one of your previous posts where this time it was the Dutch "tuppaware boys" dissing the APs . We all told you on THAT thread they were talking out of their arse and now you have another asking basically the same thing .

Don't worry, I even take the pissout of my friends (as they do me ) - it's called a sense of humour - perhaps they don't have it in Holland .

only problem i have had with my ap's are the pads ive got at the moment .. the last ones ferrodo ds300's were pukka i now got some ferrodo ds2500's BUT they are a slightly wider pad so im not getting as much braking pressure .. apart from that they are bloody ace ...
when they were initally fitted i thought i could feel the back of the car lifting up under severe stopping
must get some more 3000's

OK...for Mike R.....

because he couldnt find one bad word about AP...

this is written in the first topic when i opened it....

Just wanted to let you know I fitted new brakes to my car
they are AWESOME and I've already tested very severly,
14 stops from 220 to 0 and they didn't move an inch!!

next test will be the track in March!

they even fit with the enkei's, but VERY little space left.

(I just coulnd't take it anymore..all those wrapped discs with the AP's and Brembo's)

332mm*32 kit, they even do a 355mm kit, but that's 18" only

so...not that stupid after all....

What a crock of shit - he hasn't even TESTED the APs . Did you notice that not ONE other Evo driver picked up on this and said they had experienced the same? .

Regarding the OE Brembos, this is a KNOWN problem, as the OE discs are a ONE piece design and being so big, cannot dissipate the heat quickly enough whilst on track. So the OE one-piece discs are really not up to track use for this reason. AP actually do an upgrade kit (see my website ) for the Evo, which replaces the OE one-piece disc with an AP floating 2-piece item. It cures the problem and allows you to keep the OE calliper (which is VERY good ).
