in the display case its 1/18 scale the model kit above I bought a while ago but never had a go at constructing it that's 1/24 scale and is coincidentally the actual car in the case

Yes mate it would be appear that the model kit above is the model in the case, I had a texaco sierra rs500 which I sold hoping to get a labbats livered Andy Rouse rs500 but the company that was going to produce them went bust leaving me and others dissapointed

I had to buy another model but didn't really want to part with what I paid for this escort but you know what ebay is like it gets addictive and I don't like to lose on the auctions

Yeh i know what you mean about ebay.I hate loosing too.I must look on ebay atleast twice everyday.Im always looking for cossie parts.

 

Yeah, you won't go wrong on that score.

Even the price of new models from top manufacturers has risen dramatically in the last couple of years.

I bought an AutoArt BMW M3 CSL new when they were available in 2007 for Ł49.99 which was the RRP. Now they're changing hands for as much as Ł500 in Carbon Grey like I have, which appears rarer than the black. And the RRP for the new models in the same range is Ł149.99 now and some limited editions more than that.

Your money will be pretty safe.

Oh and to really rub it in, not so long back I bought the SunStar Yacco-livery Esc Cos unopened from my local model shop for less than Ł20 (can't remember whether it was Ł16 or Ł19 now) and they can fetch Ł100-odd now.

When I started collecting MK2 Escorts were Ł20 for 1:18 scale, now Ł50 plus
The UT Escort Cosworths were Ł20 - Ł40 brand new.
Just like real cars I used to break them for spares.
Prices just keep rising up and up.
