My s2 has a bad missfire under 2000rpm, have done a tast and all cylinders are equal and rightn changed plugs and leads and still got problem, it looks to be running rich, the new plugs were black within 15 minutes of running and the smoke smells very rich in fuel, any idea, regards. pete

Is there anyway i can solve this problem myself for the time being, i have to drive 30 miles to get it setup and i dont want to kill it!!, cheers for the reply

you can adjust it on the metering unit, i think you disconnect the mutiplug on the black box attached to the meteing unit at the back of it ( can't think what it is called, potentiometer maybe? ) and then remove the small grub screw that is in front of the plate ( with air filter removed ) you then use a small hex key to adjust the co , be warned though you will never get it spot on by guessing and the unit is easily damaged so don't rev the car whilst adjusting and then get it straight to a tuner.
