Default what gearbox fits this essex V6 bellhousing?

Hi. I've got an ali bellhousing for an essex V6 engine thats been modified to fit a... well that's just it, I'm not 100% sure what gearbox its been modified for! I've attached a picture to help. The dimensions of the four bolts are approximate (4.5" from top-to-bottom and 5.5" ish across the bottom).

My first guess is a type 9 gearbox because of the hole drilled in the top for the peg of a type 9 to fit into... but I can't be sure - anyone got any ideas?

(could it be for a type E?)

the adapter plate is loose and just lying on top of the housing so I guess it does look a bit off centre in the photo

ahrite make sure measurements are dead on when welding if its off itll make for a very hard installation of the box.

all the welding has already been done - there is an aluminium sandwich plate between the actual housing and the would be fitted gearbox - the plate bolts up tight when a gearbox is attached.

Unfortunately no help from Burton Power -can anyone say this is definitely the size (using the dimensions of the bolts) that it's been made for a type 9?
