Default Gearbox rattling at idling/low revs?

I had this issue with my car when i first bought it, i changed the box oil, it was fine, and now its returned again !

Its a 2.0 ESP focus mk1.

Basically when its idling you can hear something in the gearbox like turning/grinding/rattling, give it a gentle rev and the noise gets louder, but anymore than just over 1000rpm the noise stops, but then under load you can hear the noise up to about 2000 when you pull away and change through the gears, anything above 2000 and it stops?

Its not the release bearing because the noise is still there whether the clutch is up or down, in gear or not in gear?

Someone has said input shaft bearing? Is this anything to worry about, will i eventually loose gear or gears? Or will it just shit itself big time in one big finale?
