Hi, I am new here and hope someone can help, I have a 2001 ford focus 1.6 and the fan heater has totally stopped working except on setting 4, this has only just happened and as winter is setting in is a right nuisance.
Is it at all possible to fix it myself with a bit of guidance or should it go to the garage and if so does anyone have any idea what to expect cost wise.
Also I might as well ask in the same post...the air bag light keeps coming on, it stays on for a while goes off but then comes back on again ?

I would guess that it could be the heater resister pack gone which would be why it only works on the highest speed.

Just wanted to say thanks, I got the part and fitted it, heater now works just as it should...saved me quite a few quid there I would think ! so once again thanks

I have the same problem, on an 02 plate Focus 1.6 LX, but I cannot locate the resister at all, it just isn't there, or it's I've over looked it because its in a different place? There is no blue resister pack next to the heating unit. I would be grateful for any help on this matter? Many thanks

deffo sounds like heater resister gone, my golf used to do this. once changed it was fine.
