From: guernsey,c.i.. a rip off island , full of drunks
only green top late saffs had a lambda sensor ...late 91 ,,,92 models
your front pipe has a cat ,,so i would say yours should have 1 .. it fits where that blank is on turbo
and that is the lambda connector too

you need to see what colour saticker you have on your ecu if its red you dont need a lambda if its green it should have one, but can also be down to what chip is in it aswell if it has an after market chip
that also looks like a std exhaust downpipe for a late saf with the cat there so someone has proberbly smahsed the cat out
thats the correct plug for lambda and it goes into turbo

its the green sticker one. its a pts chip not sure who they are was in it wwhen i got it. i was also under them impression you cannot get a direct replacement lamda it has to be moved. is there any way i could tell if the cat is not there.

i think yo may be right dojj the question for me is where to take it. im changing the fuel pump and rewiring it next week so that may make a difference hopefully.
you'd probably need to put up another post asking who folk would recommened to look at it that are local
but the answer is most probably going to be msd up the road in blackpool if you can make it that far
you may be able to get a local msd dealer type have a look as there are millions of them around the country now

are PTS that bad? i may put new injectors in and then go for a setup or maybe a live map not sure who to use to be honest nms were very helpful on the phone but MAD were good to i think MSD may be a little far.
What year is the car? becuase if it is cat testable you are quite limited to tuners who will be able to make the car road legal and pass a cat test, For this to happen it will need to be closed loop controlled.
How do i tell if the cat is still there?

The car test will be performed if the car should have a cat on it
But seeig as you don't "need" a cat until 93, you may get away with it
It all depends on which not place you go to and even then the roadside emissions brigade might say something else if you get stopped

Sometimes in closed loop control you can just about squeeze them through the cat test, with just the small pre car fitted, (which is in your pic)
The problem you may have, if the car has been running out of closed loop, the cat may well be poisoned and not function.
You really just need to pick a tuner and take the advise they give you, We can go around in circles all day otherwise.
We can do most levels of tune with closed loop control, off the shelf which you can get set up locally if anyone is up to the job,
Or take a day out and pop up to us for a day to complete the work. They are the options we can give you.
What power do you want to reach?

The chip will be £250 closed loop enabled, 3bar map sensor is £79, and 803s are £315.00, A set up here is £144.00
Bosch lambda sensor is £60.00 and a fittng boss is £9.00
There are a few variables you will need like a breather system, air filter etc.
