Default Starting problem help

Hello all first post here and after advice.

My current Mondeo 55plate ghia x starts crisply on the first cold turnover, when the engine is warm it gets more difficult to start, the car can sometimes judder quite badly then suddenly kick in, i took it to the local garage where i have the warranty and they changed the crank sensor but this did not fix it, yesterday i took it to a Ford garage for an independant report, they came back saying it was suspected flywheel and starter motor but they would need to take the gearbox ou to confirm this..

I previously had a DMF go on my last mondeo but the symptoms were totally different to this, i would get a whirring from the starter motor before she finally went, nothing like the symptoms i'm getting now..????

Am i right in saying that if the DMF is gone that i also have to change the clutch and starter motor...?

So to say im confused is an understatement, can anyone shed any light on this for me before i spend a large amount of money to sort it..

Thanks
Jason
