Hey can anyone tell me what is the best option on the 2.0 pinto and which 1 will give me more bhp?

 

Carbs will ultimately- if 45's, but it depends how far you want to go with it.

A nice torquey cam in a cleaned up head with a 4 branch on efi will make 135 or 140, and still be lovely and drivable round town.

After that it's side draught territory and all the expense of them!!

Would it be okay if I want to go turbo later?

 

I have heard of people turboing the Efi with aftermarket management ( the ford stuff won't cut it with boost as far as i am aware. Cossie management might cut it!!

With carbs it's rarely done unless the carb used was originally used for a turbo, as you get boost leakage above about 10 psi or so, and / or pressuring of the fuel and all sorts of running issues!

Your best bet is programmable EFI, either throttle bodies or single throttle body. Carbs will not make more/less power than throttle bodies of the same size, the advantage of programable EFI is that it can be mapped infinitly to suit every load postion of your set-up. Unlike carbs that will have very few adjustments and will not be perfect under evry load condition. EFI is best if going down the turbo route, carbs have too many complications with turbos and are notoriously hard to tune
