Default Ford main dealer broke my heart!

So I took my fiesta rs in for an oil change plugs doing and a general service which I knew it didn't need but piece of mind n all that as it's only covered 22k from new....anyhow whilst talking to the manager about how clean my car was and the amount of folk that had commented on it he then went on to tell me about the skip that they filled at the beginning of last year with ALL escort/fiesta/sierra rs gear, bumpers, arches, bonnets, vents, stickers, steering wheels, alloys, brakes, pads, exhausts, manifolds my gob fell open when he'd finished telling me said it was allbrand new boxed/packaged but they hadn't shifted a single rs item for years so deemed it scrap! He didn't even have a clue about how big the rs scene was or is! I still feel sick now I wonder how many more places still have gear in for em?!.

He said they had loads of stock as they used to do alot of insurance work on the rs models so always made sure they were stocked up!, he said it was like a switch being turned off as the demand just disappeared over night!

Imagine the amount of extra trade dealers could get if they advertised the fact that they still had RS parts like body panels.

This garage is called carters of chapeltown not only are they a ford dealer but they do mint restorations and I'm talking Aston Martin db3/4's at over a 100k a time for the cars not the resto's and they currently have a car where they have had to take out an extra insurance policy for a 350k vintage car forgot what it's called but belongs to a guy who tarmac'd euro Disney apparently so how the fuck could they not know about the popularity of Rs cars?, beats me they are giving me a quote for an underneath concourse build on the car all parts pained and the engine is off to passion restorations when I get round to it

not surprised they dident shift any of it.the prices they charge are fooking stupid.and to be honest they aint gonna have a price cut on rs parts because as soon as the did they would put the prices back up.the thing is with big companys these days is that they would rather spite us by telling us they binned it all than loose money.

Anything with stock movement of zero over a 12 month rolling period gets automatically put into an "obsolete" status @ most Ford dealers now. They then give the regional supplier (normally QuickCo) the list and they purchase anything they want back @ a set rate. Anything else goes in the skip.

When I worked for a Ford dealer, I used to get the list of obsolete stuff handed to me every month and I would tick off anything I wanted. The next day I would bring my van into work, leave it in the corner and the Parts Manager would ask me for my keys during the day and fill the van with what I had ticked.

I ended up with the whole front end for my Escort cabby, Sierra Saph and hatchback bonnets, grille trims, glass, headlamps, wings, wheels, you name it, it was there. Took a couple of years, but got there in the end.

Still got some stuff left now, although a lot of it I just give away to people who genuinely need it.

Another dealer near me threw away boxes (about 50 worth) of 2wd Cossie discs and pads, couple of knuckles, loads of things like that. They all went into the skip and were covered in rubbish to stop anybody nicking them back out.

Funny how these dealers "didnt realise the following behind the RS scene" yet they made limited numbers of mk1 and 2 Focus RS' in the last 10 years and also charged horrendous prices. I think that guy was just fulla fucking shite. I woulda knocked his cunt in for being a cunt!!

well lad's i wouldnt post something that i wasn't told whilst i was stood there looking at a skoda that they had in the back, i even hinted to see if they had anything at all and he said no, it took them 2 days to get a air filter and when i asked for my engine to be tuned as the idle was a litle up and down the guy didnt have a clue about the car said it was all factory set which was bollox, then when i asked if my tracking had been done he then started relaying that i hadnt asked for it to be done, some old gaff that thought he was a comedian, not overly impressed with them from my 1st visit, however the bodyshop seemed better organised, they didnt even knw how to use the phone either i dont think.

Hi chris yes i did mate, the prices are fantastic really much better than what i thought, so dont be putting the prices up, i shall ring you monday when i have a free day, kindest regards mate.

as far as I know we haven't chucked any rs stuff out.but the stores is small and doesn't hold very much. I am guessing it was bob you were talking too when you came down?
Very nice fiesta by the way, don't think I could cope with how heavy the steering is for every day use though. When are you bringing the escort down? lol

He probably threw out a dusty 7 spoke RS wheel but every time he tells the story it gets bigger and bigger

You'd have to be a right retard these days to not at least post "job lot of RS items" on ebay and a quick picture of the lot of it before you go and hire a skip to get rid of it lets face it!

These was definately no skip of stuff down here. It might have been at the bodyshop as they are moving soon, but it will have been slightly damaged stuff changed on insurance jobs I should imagine.
