Anything with stock movement of zero over a 12 month rolling period gets automatically put into an "obsolete" status @ most Ford dealers now. They then give the regional supplier (normally QuickCo) the list and they purchase anything they want back @ a set rate. Anything else goes in the skip.
When I worked for a Ford dealer, I used to get the list of obsolete stuff handed to me every month and I would tick off anything I wanted. The next day I would bring my van into work, leave it in the corner and the Parts Manager would ask me for my keys during the day and fill the van with what I had ticked.
I ended up with the whole front end for my Escort cabby, Sierra Saph and hatchback bonnets, grille trims, glass, headlamps, wings, wheels, you name it, it was there. Took a couple of years, but got there in the end.
Still got some stuff left now, although a lot of it I just give away to people who genuinely need it.
Another dealer near me threw away boxes (about 50 worth) of 2wd Cossie discs and pads, couple of knuckles, loads of things like that. They all went into the skip and were covered in rubbish to stop anybody nicking them back out.
