hey there folks im new to this site wondering if anyone can help me with this. i bought this ecu from a guy he said it was a p8 on pectal boards but he never said what they were for does anyone have any ideas to what they can do?

I can say for sure, this is not a p8, as you have co adjustment, and lugs on the house

i have been told now it is a l6! but why would it have pectal boards and what would they be for? cheers alan

 

Yes it does, it`s just L1 and L6 ho have this lugs, if i`m right

 

What chip is it ?

One of the functions of the Pectel board is to provide a protection against unwanted copying or even reading this chip. Without a sticker or a description on the outside of the ecu, I am afraid nobody knows what chip this is.

 

If you don`t now fore sure what set up the chip is fore, then you must have a new for your engine. As said over, pectel board can be just fore protection

 

Almost Correct. It is the ONLY function.

Also, the L6 is not normally used with this board anyway so maybe just best to sell the board on eBay and buy a L6 for use directly in the motherboard.

 

Shame its not a P8. Should always check with someone who knows before you buy any parts really.
