What would my engine & rolling shell be worth?
Complete engine 200 block, midly ported head 55lb inj T34/63, L8 ecu with chip. Basically a plug & play.
1988 white 2wd saph rolling shell with doors, bumper, bootlid, interior etc. Rear beam powder coated with out diff & gearbox
What return would i see on these please?

Please dont take this the wrong way , but you will not see anywhere near 10k for your car in bits
your shell is very nice and you have a nice engine but it isnt a big spec
I struggled to get 4k for a 450bhp engine with sweedish inlette / GT30 turbo / L8 ecu / braided loom / modded rs500 cooler and all silicon hoses
there was reciepts for 9k and i sold it for 3900 as i couldnt shift it
with the market the way it is stuff will only sell if its a bargain , and bargain prices wont see you near 10k

paul it be a real shame to see your car broken its a dam fine cossie mate! but thats why i ended up breaking mine i knew i wouldnt get much for it complete so no option but to break.
Why would you think what he quoted is unrealistic? Welcome to the 21st century, like Paul RS Spares said, these cars aren't worth what they used to be. I of all people hate to admit it, but its true. Maybe sometime in future they will be again, but not while Diesels are more desirable for obvious economy reasons.

I don't get what you're on about mate, sometimes I think people on here just sit around waiting to make negative comments. The point I was making was Paul obviously wants around the 10k mark for his cossy. I was pointing out that he could probably pull a maximum of 6-7k by breaking his and selling it off.
are u being serious the engine 1200-1800 maybe the shell i dont know rolling 1500 if your very lucky you not seen all the ones on ebay that never seem to sell maybe if its rolling with a full inside aps and top suspenion he will get more but still no way 6 or 7 grand mate you could buy a very nice saff or even a basic 3 dr for that

IMHO, the most usable clean cossie shell about
The engine is on a t34, recently rebuilt etc etc its a good engine. 3k for the right buyer want a drop in lump with management and loom

Wheels 800-1000?
Brakes are aps, then all the nice bits around the shell. Its 7-8k any day broken IMHO

i say your not far away jim on you priceing mate, i would say in these times a good spec car like this is worth 7k sold in one bit and mabie between 7 and 9 in parts . but then theres the trouble brakeing them.

You know yourself Steve, when somethings right, it's worth paying a little over the odds for and people recognise that, this car is right, mint you, I should shut up I want the interior 

but he hasent put all that down has he dosent say mint under side nice wheels mint inside! my last post dose say it would be woth more with bits like that plus i sold a m.a.d spec 350 yb with both manifolds t34 and the ecu on ebay and only got 1200 and that was with a mate bidding on it at the last min 
I agree Paul needs to put a spec up but I know the spec a little bit so can comment on prices a bit better
205 block and dident need a 4x4 head and yes with the t34 plus the guy on this thread who brakes them day in and day out for a liveing only got 3900 for a ready to go 450bhp engine with 9 grands worth of bills!
Depends on your motivation mate, but TBH if you've priced it at 10k and then are considering breaking it i doubt you'd get that.
If it was me (and it isn't) I'd save the hassle of fcuking about breaking it and sell it for £8500, but i noticed that you don't really need to sell it, so I would just keep a hold of it if i were you. Good luck whatever u decide to do, personally there is no way I would sell it.

I sold one of the best 2wd cossie shells i have ever seen ( in crystal blue ) complete with all bumpers / spilers / rolling with std brakes / On koni susp / 4x4 bonnet / MINT dash / carpet etc ( everything bar the seats and door trims / for £2200
and the 450 bhp spec engine ( plug and play unit ) with 500cooler / samcos etc for £3900
And i thought i had done ok for the climate
I hope Paul does well , all im saying is i would think very hard before i broke it , I wouldnt want to think i had to claw back over £7500

be sad to break it mate its all about finding the right person for it really i was going to break an e reg ex concourse 3 door with everything new underside inc big ap,s 6 degree rear beam/rs500 bumper/18 mo,s etc a car that had only been touched by the right people i wanted £5500 for the car complete minus engine /box/t6 loom and got the same sort of replys had it removed in the end good luck whatever you decide to do mate its a nice car
shell is worth no more then 2k, even at that it would be tight going, the car has had welding repair iirc, we paid 1200 for a rolling smokestone sapphire an it was very tidy, i just think everyone posting on here saying its worth this an that is fulling paul with shit,
One thing you need to remember Afull car is worth what someone looking for wants to pay
Parts are only worth what you can sell for to the person got most of what they need
or the price to move it !
