Default i hav 2 problems! plz help!

gt a 91 s2, my tachometer always reads 2 high its dfntly mfi clocks it shows the rite speed at idle and when im drivin at say 4000rpm the tach goes off the clock!!!!!!?????
secondly, my temp gauge doesnt read it just stays at the top! it starts at the bottom then just goes above the red and stays dfntly nt overheatin as its bin like this ages HELP!!! cheeRS

sounds like someone has put the wrong clockset in at somepoint

Has it still got the standard dials or have they been replaced at some point? If they have been changed then it would seem that the needles have not been placed correctly...can be a real bastard to sort out, but not the end of the world...

Does this happen as soon as you put the ignition on? it shoots to the top? Think ur temp sensor is knackered, the rubber boots that push onto the head always fooke up and melt away after x amount of years. Sounds like the connection is not making proper contact.

nt possible as my dad was the previous owner of the car frm new, it is totally original sumfing has dfntly gne wrong

temp gauge is you need a new SENDER unit it's located in the head(can get it from Fords or any car acces shop) rev counter could be up the creek try get hold of another set to try!

my fault shud hav giv u full info: i tried my clocks from my other turbo which work fully and stil d same the rev counters the most weird it shows idling at 1100 then when i accelerate it movel triple the distance its meant 2 and goes off the clock on to the speedo!!!!
