Bank it in a new account, don't tell him, then tell him you have been called away on business, you will ship the item next week.

How long does he have to cancel a cheque - see if you can string him along. I would guess he won't cancel the cheque until you have shipped?

You wont get a penny off that cheque, just take it to the smallest room in the house and put it to good use

Then send him a picture of it and say that "an accident happened"

Well as they have your address, I can't see how you're not going to get a visit over that one if the cheque does clear

If apples has spelt it wrong and he meant smyths toys ltd then that name is registered and is indeed Irish

I thought these scams worked by them letting the money go into your account, so you send the goods, then them recalling the cheque - leaving you with no money? Therefore the cheque has to clear?

there is no such AIB branch at that address. Its a dodgy cheque. do not try to cash it. you'll have the old bill all over you, however I would go to the old bill and get it all checked out just to keep yourself in the clear.

I checked it on matchcode. hahahahahahaha.

regards

Jay

My 1994 bank directory confirms AIB at 12 Old Jewry, London EC2R 8DP.
(I know the book qualifies as a historic document, but banks don't move around a lot and I haven't worked in one since then!)

NEWS HEADLINES NEXT WEEK

"Apples24, from PFBB, arrested for money laundering"....

I wouldn't even have gone this far....lol - and if it is money laundering, as opposed to just ripping you off, you've got to wonder who might be behind it - the scammers ain't all from Nigeria you know......
