I have just taken the gearbox off my RS to change the release bearing but now I am starting to think its an IB5 Gearbox from a Mk5 Escort diesel.
The part number on the casing is 96WT - 7F096 - EA IV/1
Can anyone help in trying to identify it please as i just want to make sure i get the right bearing.
Also how different is an IB5 to the standard BC box - i.e gaskets etc etc

Problem is though is that it works out at Ł50.33 !!
I figured that better to pay the extra for the quality as opposed to putting a cheap pattern on only to have to change again soo.
Ben- i think he means its very short.
yea my 1st gear is very very short, turbo does not even spoil up, its got 1986 stamped on it as well, so it mite of come off a 1.1 which could have a closer ratio maybe, and its doing 7000k in 5th and will only do 130mph
hi guys, hope one of you can help. just had a punt on a" recon. rs turbo box" off ebay. has new seals/bearings and looks like has been worked on(also has blue bolts?) but to be honest not sure if has l.s.d. or what i'm looking for! has part numder 87TT-7F096-BB I/2 on casing. anybody know ?
