Default *problem solved with new pics* i've fitted some 17" softline RS7's for my MK7 Fiesta

Firstly they look so good. my motor is red, and with them on they remind me so much of old school Ford. I'm so in love!

I was actually after the diamond cut hard versions but I'm glad I found these as I think the MK7 is to curvy for the sharper straight lines of the hard version. (is that the right name?!)

Anyway, I'm almost 100% convinced the tapered head of my original ford nuts is too big for these wheels, they were meant for the street pack 17"s I already had and I'm guessing for every modern Ford... My question is, in the good old days were there different stock nuts used?

I have some narrow nuts (only 4) and they look like they reach furthur to the hub when screwing them all the way on. However the heads on these are almost too narrow and seem to small at the tip.

I fear I'm struggling to get my point accross here, I hope someone understands and feel free to explain on my behalf.

I am desperate for some locking bolts for the centre caps as well, they've come with bolts with flat head access, as a result I've temporarily removed them for safe keeping. Can you guys link me up some suitable replacements to at least deter the opportunist scumbag. At the moment any idiot with a set of house keys could have these away...

I will post pics when i get the caps on, they look kinda rough without them. So the quicker you guys help the sooner you will see the sexiness of these wheels on my car

Thanks in advance!!

even if they were too big and didn't quite reach down to the bottom of stud thread but all 4 were as tight as poss (not over tight though) should that provide sufficent 'support' to prevent anything wobbling and potentially doing any damage?

are there any other options other than those Ł40 ebay bolts to secure the caps?

look at the gap between the rear face and the start of the bolt... surely there shouldn't be free space between there?

3 different nuts i've got lying around, granted two of them are extremely similar

I think they will be alright. What's the offset of the standard wheels on your fiesta? I think those softlines will scrub on your arches as the offset will be too low...

nopies, no scrubbing, they're half an inch wider than the 17"s. I had to remove my rear spacers (see pic above) as they would 100% scrub with them on.

as for the front they are just clear of the inner arch, on full lock over speed bumps they touch the arach lining on the front, but i can live with that.

offest on the stock wheels as per usual with modern ford wheels was fairly high, its over 45, can't remember exactly..

Yes the offset is high, my focus is 52.5 which is quite a lot! They look pretty smart, got a pic with the fronts on?

i haven't yet, i've had to get some locking bolts for the centre caps so not got them on, will take pics when i've got them.

i think something like this would be ideal, just want to be sure before i buy, is the seat on the rs 7's tapered or curved?

Pretty sure they are tapered, all ford alloy wheels are as far as I'm aware! Your original nuts should be fine, as long as they go on a good few turns I wouldn't worry about it!

thanks guys, I found the right nuts in the end. Got them from a place called speedshack.

Here they are for anyone else who's interested.

I must say the comments I've got on them aren't what I was expecting, I've had a few negative which I suppose you're always gonna get when you change stuff on your car.

Here's more pics for you anyway:

Think they'd look better on my turbo...

In exchange for some black team dynamics 5 spoke 17's, comp MO style? With virtually new tyres.
