Default bailey dump valve not working!!!!

just fitted a bailey dv26 double piston dump valve, run the top hose to the right hand side of the inlet using a t piece ,went out in the car, tick over fine ,boosting fine but no sound from the dump valve? when the car turned is off the top piston drops down, when you start the car on tick over it opens, when you rev the car it comes down again ,is this correct? but i carn't get the lower piston to open?is the how it should operate?its only running standard boost around 8 psi.

Is it brand new? I had a similar thing with my dump valve, after a bit it loosened off slightly and worked fine.

I was thinking that but it's new hose which I had left over from a boost gauge fitting kit,and the top piston is opening and closing with the throttle fine. Just the bottom piston stays closed hince no noise.

is it the clear style vacum pipe because i used that when fitting my gauge soon as it got warm collasped.if it aint that mate it can only be an issue with the dump valve.i got a spare baileys its used but if you wated to come get it you could have it.

It is that clear stuff, the dump valve looks new,I've striped it and it looks fine seals every thing are new looking. I would have thought if it was the dump valve causing a air leak the car wouldnt tick over ect?cheers for the offer of the valve mate, I will let you know As I'am not that bothered about a dump valve really and would be sick off it In a few weeks!!!

Why don't you try an other dv? is new so get it back and try an other! my she has a problem even if is new..
And one question, where is better to put the ecu hose? left whith the gauge or right with the others??

been out in the car all day, runs fine ,still no noise from the dump valve, unless i rev the tits off the car up to 6000rpm when parked the valve opens a little then it makes a slight noise .may be a boost prob?will have to fit my boost gauge back in the car and see what its running.

Guys,

The right and left hand side of the inlet manifold are one and the same.

I doubt you will get any noise out of your dv running 8psi mate. And you will never make enough boost off load (just revving) to make it work.

Your best bet all round is to crank the boost up!

As Rob said, it doesn't matter which side they go, but, i would leave the ecu plumbed in on it's own piece of silicon pipe, i.e no T pieces off it for the dump valve or boost guage. This wil reduce the risk of any leaks which could affect the ecu's boost reading (not good).

Change the vac pipe to silicone pipe m8 and try running a few more psi as rob has said you wont hear much at 8psi

That's what I was thinking, running standard boost is not enough to open the valve. The cars not chipped so carnet run no more boost, so will prob just take the dump valve off. I would have got pissed off with any way in a couple off weeks!!!

The T piece was for a gauge and the brass insert is to help prevent the gauge needle bouncing.
