Seized rear brake drum.Any tips lads?
The drivers side rear drum has seized on my car.Its been in the garage for the past 4 months but i never left the handbrake on to try and prevent this..
Is there any way of sorting it?If so...how?
Cheers

Jack the back of the car up and try moving the wheel backwards and forwards, I had this on my S2 and I dragged it down the road and it was stuck solid, I then jacked the back of the car up and kicked the wheel from behind (so that it would turn backwards) and it freed off straight away.
Failing that it is drum off and sort from there

The wheel still moves but its tight..i only noticed when i got home last night and was walking past the wheel and though hmm that was a nice warm breeze past my leg.Checked drum and it was roasting!
Jacked the car up and the as i say the wheel rotates but you have to put some force into it as if hand brake is half on..?
So,drum off then

Sounds like a seized Wheel Cylinder.
Get the drum off, get an assistant to put two screwdrivers either side of the shoes, (up the top) and press the brake and see if the shoes move outward, if they don't, ya wheel cylinders seized.
