My s2 started up this morning but then died

It was on the red but put more petrol in it but she still wont fire.

The plugs are wet and there is a spark there but no sign of life so far. The only wierd this is that when you put the ignition on and when the pump primes there is a wierd noise like when you let air out of a balloon slowly coming from behind the inlet manifold

When you remove the fuel pump fuse this noise dissapears so it related the the fuel system.

Any help would be great.

ive had mine run out a few times over the years (running it up over the winter,s while in storage)and as soon as you re-fule it it fires up no probs.

noise from the back of the inlet iis prob just from the idle adjustment screw letting air passed.

i would check rotor arm and dis cap next.

is thare not a cold start injector back there if so could it be jamed open flooding the engine?

 

Not sure about the random noise but ihad a similar problem to what you have described, when mine would start once then not start again for a while, wet plugs etc.
Turned out to be overfueling quite a bit, turned idle fueling down and she started a treat, checked co at garage aswell to make doubley sure.

 

Well the AA came out for a look and he reckoned the metering unit has given me two middle fingers

Dont know if there is anyway of getting them tested?

Car is getting fuel, a strong spark and checked for air leaks and there is just no hint of her trying to fire into life.
