s2 power to weight???//
i have a s2 running about 170ish but was last rolling roaded at 191.1 bhp with a dyno print out.
so does any1 know what my power to weight ratio is at 170bhp?
i havent raced any1 but anyone got a idea of what cars id keep up with or have in a race??????????
i havent done anything to the car but at 170ish bhp is not bad but was thinking of turning it up, as im sick of all these civic type r's ( i havent raced one at the moment as my car is currently sorn and im getting it painted so will be on road for the end of may)
also anyone got a idea of what sort of power is needed in a s2 to beat a civic type r? thanks

Id reckon at 170bhp you give them a bloody good go. Kerb weight spose to be 980kg.Weight from 980 to 1080kg.Always a mixed convo about what the weight is but far as im aware from the last convo about weight was agreed upon 980kg.
So at 1000kg weight it be 170bhp per ton,less than 1000kg you have more bhp per a ton etc etc.
Rough guide
980kg = 176.25bhp
1000kg = 172.73bhp
1080kg = 159.93bhp
You need to find the weight of a type r etc and see what bhp you need and don't forget torque figures too.

Says in Haynes manual S2 is 967kg So with the power you are running you have a preety good power to weight ratio, Civic type R weighs in at just over 1200kg Ive owned a 2003 Civic type R and imo they are nothing to shout about performance wise, My mate has a 2005 plate and when weve been out for a bit of a blast ive always easily kept up on straight roads etc and when going up any slight hill im all over him due to the lack of torque in the Type R's (146lb-ft
my other mates standard mk1 FRS destroys type R's especially up hill again due to the civic's lack of torque
All well and good having just shy of 200 bhp but if its got no torque to back it up imo its useless
BHP sells cars torque wins races

Youve gotta take gearing and the driver into consideration aswell...
Before my turbo convo, i was evenly matched to my m8s Civic TypeR (and many others) that was 130bhp/128/lbsft from an NA CVH... Mind you the Mk2 Orion is 940kg, so a 40kg saving over an ERST...
It seemed liked the Type R was constantly changing gear, whereas i was in gear for 30mph at a time!
