Default 4x4 Bottom End on 2wd head

Morning all, i know i'm probabl going to sound a bit thick but can anyone tell me whats involved in grafting a standard 4x4 bottom end onto a 2wd head?

My 3dr requires a new bottom end (currentl on 205 block) and i've managed to drop on a good complete 4wd already built block. What do i need to do to get them to match?

Things like:

Do i have to change the flywheels over (as i've not long had an expensive Ap clutch fitted to my old block) and more to the point are they interchangeable or will my 4 paddle AP fit directly onto the 4wd fly?

Are the bottom pulleys the same and as such cam belts?

Will new standard 3dr head bolts be suitable?

I've got a Cometic head gasket currently (vertually brand new) so was going to re-use, will it fit now?

I know the sump has to change, but is it as simple as unbolting the 4wd one and re-attaching my current 2wd unit (i have a big wing sump at present)

Engine mounts, will these have to change or will my 2wd arms fit onto the 4x4 block (or will i need to get 4wd mounts and arms?)

Or anything else people can think of that i'll need to do, i'm going to have a stab at doing the work myself when the block arrives as i'm half handy round a spanner so any tips advice etc ontop of what i've already mentioned is much appreciated. Is it a partiqularly hard job to do?

Thanks!

Lee

You Will need to balance the crank with your 2wd flywheel, but you can keep the 4wd one but its heavier.

Your cr Will change so an adjustment of the map is recomended.

Use the 2wd mounts, headbolts is the same, you can switch pulleys to suit your desired belt although crank pulley may be an idea to have balanced with the crank aswell.

Its quite a straightforward swap otherwise.

No need at all to balance the crank, they are very good as std, whilst things are apart why not lighten your flywheel, I got my std 2wd one down from 8.9KG, to 6.6KG for £40, which will show a big difference, I then further lightened it to either 5.6 or 5.8KG with some slotting, but this cost around £70 extra, so nowhere near as cost effective as the initial lighten.
It was also balanced at the same time of course.

Thanks, i think i will get the fly lightened.

What about the other stuff though, i'm after a bit of a guide as to what i need to do to graft the 2 parts together, i've been told the spray bar is different/will need changing?

Does John still run those meets? I have been once or twice but some years ago now to be honest. Any advice for building the engine up? Ever round the deeside area? I could always do with a hand

The spray bar and oil pump are different between 2wd and 4wd.

if it was me i wouldn't use a head gasket twice as i would think it would be compressed to suit the last block

Isnt the crank and flywheel balanced as a unit from factory? since the bolts has an offset i figured this was the case. If so you would disturb the balance by changing flywheel.

Each crank and flywheel are balanced as seperate units, they are then put in the parts bin so could end up with any crank/fly combo, as seperate items they are balanced very well, for production cars, but of course can be improved with more balancing, or rather finer balancing, but random cranks/flys will be fine.
