Morning all, i know i'm probabl going to sound a bit thick but can anyone tell me whats involved in grafting a standard 4x4 bottom end onto a 2wd head?
My 3dr requires a new bottom end (currentl on 205 block) and i've managed to drop on a good complete 4wd already built block. What do i need to do to get them to match?
Things like:
Do i have to change the flywheels over (as i've not long had an expensive Ap clutch fitted to my old block) and more to the point are they interchangeable or will my 4 paddle AP fit directly onto the 4wd fly?
Are the bottom pulleys the same and as such cam belts?
Will new standard 3dr head bolts be suitable?
I've got a Cometic head gasket currently (vertually brand new) so was going to re-use, will it fit now?
I know the sump has to change, but is it as simple as unbolting the 4wd one and re-attaching my current 2wd unit (i have a big wing sump at present)
Engine mounts, will these have to change or will my 2wd arms fit onto the 4x4 block (or will i need to get 4wd mounts and arms?)
Or anything else people can think of that i'll need to do, i'm going to have a stab at doing the work myself when the block arrives as i'm half handy round a spanner so any tips advice etc ontop of what i've already mentioned is much appreciated. Is it a partiqularly hard job to do?
Thanks!
Lee
