Default 2003 Fiesta Mk6 Passenger Electric Window Problem - does not work

Hi

This week I picked up a 2003 Fiesta Mk6 from an auction.

Neither electric windows worked, except the drivers after I removed and refited the electrical block in the door shut and after I punched the door following advise I saw elsewhere on the internet!!

Still the passengers window does not work. Despite doing the above.

Now, the passengers window switch on the drivers side does nothing.

But on the passengers side, pressing 'UP' you can here a faint click like you'd usually get BUT nothing when you press 'DOWN'.

Could anyone please help ?

Any advise would be gratefully received.

Thanks !

Hi,

I recieved a new switch from ebay this morning, and to my disappointment it hasn't worked.

Shall I now try a new motor ?

I doubt it's the motor, it sounds more like a jam perhaps, have you tried lubeing the runners etc, seeing if the windows jammed?

when you press the button do you hear the motor turn?

if so plastic gear is broken as there is no clutch and stiff rubbers can cause this.

if it's not turning lub the rubbers and check again, if it still isn't working you need to access the motor to see if there is voltage there when you operate the switch to diagnose.

Like I said the motor is definitely getting its 12v when you press 'UP' but only 2v when you press 'DOWN' ?

2v when pressing 'DOWN' - Is this normal ?
