My new cam goes very tight
I have just fitted a newman BD16 inlet cam, but it goes very tight when i turn it. I mean alot tighter than the standard exhaust cam...
I have of course lubricated it and tightened it with the right torque specification.
It is not the valve springs, they are newman double valve springs and it goes tight all the way around. If i losen the bearings, it is a lot easier to turn.
I know that all new cams goes tight in the beginning until they are properly broken in, but i just think this is too much. But you cant really do anything about it, i guess the only possibility is a factory casting error which probably is not the case.
Have any of you had the same issue with new cams in a YB head?

I have now messured them both, and they were exactly similar. 27,9 mm to be precise.
But after a lot more lubricant and a lot more turns it helped a lot. It is now only slighty more tight than the other camshaft. So everything is ok i guess.
Thanks for the replies.
