Default Amal valves and air injectors?

Ok peeps, just a quick couple of questions

1) Whats the difference between the brown (RST) Amal valve, and the black cossie (webber) one? Are they interchangeable between cars? My mates 4x4 Cos was mapped at MSD on a brown one, and has been fine until the Amal valve failed, now we have swapped it out for a black on, it's boosting oddly, and dropped 4psi off peak boost. All the jets were transfered across.

2) How involved is fitting an air injector in place of the amal valve? Does it need a re-map or just a set-up and tweek?

Thats interesting as I thought they were all the same? Even with the different colours I should think the actual operation is the same but possibly different jetting for different setups but as you have transferred these, are you sure it's not something else causing the problem?

Air injectors use the "bleed on" stratergy where an amal valve is a "bleed off", so you'll need to invert the boost control valve logic in the ecu.

Being cheeky, can I borrow it to see if it fixes the problem? Sale or return?

when you say the amal valve failed, what was the symptom to confirm this diagnoses?

I've never seen a black AMAL valve? They are all brown? The Escort uses a Lectron (spelling) valve thats different as far as i know?

Big boost loss, only pulling 15ish psi. When you wiggle the 2 prong connector on top with the ignition on, the valve clicks, which is prob a loose/failed connection inside.
