government approved mot centre
is it best to use one of the government approved mot centre as theres no incentive to fail your car to get more work has anyone used them whats your opinion
I used them all the time when my dad worked at one, although he refused to do the mot on my car himself, just so no thoughts of a easy pass could be made, found them to be perfectly ok if anything a little strict, but NO hint of trying to generate work for anyone, they wouldn't even suggest anyone, just said go by word of mouth, suppose maybe they were not allowed to suggest one garage over another ?

cheers think il take mine to my local approved centre being strict iant a problem il no its right if it fials il do the work myself think its ready just new brake disks n seatbelt
It's all government run centres here. Now that the waiting times for a test are sensible, it's a decent system.
Although apart from basic checks, most stuff is down to the computer anyway
Headlight alignment, brakes, shocks etc are all checked and confirmed via equipment ( obviously headlight tool is placed in position manually though )
Then the usual visual checks.
No idea if the test centres over there are equipped the same. The local stations definitely wont be though. They spent millions on them here a few years ago
