Default How do i get my RST Lower

My RST has 17's and coilovers but ever since ive had the the rear disc conversion its thrown the offset out abit so i cant have it to low without it scraping , I want to pretty much slam this car so whats the best way to do the rear arches ? Ive also noticed it catches the rear bumper a bit too

I eventually want to get the car fully painted so they might as well do this at the same time

Thanks

Best way is to remove the 17s as they don't handle well on them. Then put drums back on as imo discs are overkill on the back of an rst. Then you can go as low as you want.

trim the bumper back a bit, bounce on the car and u will see where it contacts the tyre, theres plenty that can be trimmed to solve it, and still retaining all the mounting holes

arch wise, the lips will either need trimming or rolling. when i fitted my new arches, we folded the lips completely flat and welded and sealed them like that, plus they were kind of flared a tad in the process. my coilovers are wound right down and my tyres clear (running 205/40/17s on 17x7.5 et40 rims, rear disc conversion, plus 5mm spacers)

its stil close though, and iv had to butcher my kit a lot so that it will fit back on again lol

As above really m8... im on 16x7.5s and i catch abit 4up at the rear. I got some m8s to sit in the back, marked out where it touched with a pencil and then trimmed the bumper back. Mine still catches a touch on the arch, didnt want to cut it but its got a small rust bubble appearing now, so mite as well cut it and re-do the arch properly!

Get some pics of the car up if you don't mind... Be good to see how it sits etc!

thats how mine sits now dude, theres still some adjustment on the coilovers to go a tad lower, but least u can see in the pic how close it is to the metal arch without the arch kit on. like i say, thats et40, 5mm spacers, and rear discs

Im running 17x8 ET35 rims, coilovers, and a bespoke rear disc set up which sits out further than any other rear disc set up I've seen (and more so than the old disc set up it replaced) and my arches only need very minimal trimming when I get round to it. 2-3mm maybe? It shouldn't be that hard. Also I would cut the arches rather than roll and fold them, unless you are welding them up, as thats a perfect environment for rot.

RSAndy, thats close to the arch.
I think i run a diff offset, et35 from memory maybe thats why mine used to rub...

I was running 215/40/16s and it would rub 4 up but with 195s on it doesnt! Shame i lose 20mm of contact area.

i have to run the 5mm spacers tho, making my et40 and et35, my wheels kept rubbing on the coilover springs otherwise, so its either have tyres near the arches or rims near the springs lol

even with the coilovers bottomed out tho, the tyres dont hit the arches, its just close
