Hi Fellas,
I expect when James spoke with you we had just come back from mapping as that was when we first lost the brakes, therefore he hadn't investigated any further than a look under the bonnet at the side of the road in the rain.

After further investigation, the ABS wiring is burning through as is the main harness down the drivers side chassis. This is wholly due to the fact your not running a turbocharger heatshield. However, as the car has been left to cool, James did mention earlier that braking effort has returned. Regardless, it needs serious further investigation.

I am sure James can fill you in properly tomorrow when he goes through your work report for you as he has gone home now.

Can't understand why you would remove it, it's also very dangerous due to it's close proximity to the master cylinder where the highly flammable brake fluid is!

Yo!

yes, when we got back from our final run the brakes had gone, and the ABS warning light was on,

After a little investigation, the wiring along the inner wing is burnt, the abs wheel sensor plug is burnt, the abs pump itself was red hot, and the wiring to it also very hot,

the reason the brakes went and the light came on was the fact the brake fluid in the resovoir was practically boilling, and the Power brake pump could not make pressure as the fluid was so thin and the pump was so hot,

the light comes on when pressure is low to tell you the brakes will not work when the accumulator runs out of pressure so you have a few brake applications left before they go completly,

As she cooled down and the fluid and pump came back to life, the brakes returned to normal,

So take careful note of page 3 of your work report, which will advise you on a few things you need to do before hard use, as she is very fast now, but not quite the complete package to abuse just yet.

The temporary heat sheild we use when cars turn up without them, simply wasnt good enough this time, as we had a motorway run, then straight into some traffic,

Sounds like it was caused by a missing part ( heat shield ) rather than the model of the car though? I guess SVE knew a little about these cars......

you would be wise to flush it through with new brake fluid as if it's boiled, or has been close to boiling once, it will be more likely to do it again

Good work - Castrol SRF and Motul RBF600 are good fluids
