Default Are traders NOT allowed personal lives??

Reason I ask is that I have been a cosworth enthusiast for over 10yrs..
I used to trade on this forum about 4 yrs ago for year. then had little to do with the forum until recently. Didnt actually view the site for over 14months..
No slowly geting back into things as fancy a toy again and thought I would have my gold membership so I would be able to advertise my personal car forsale. (i'm not a car salesman)

few weeks in and decided to clear out all my old items from various cossie projects I have had and list them forsale into 1 tidy post (maybe 7-8 items mostly used bits), Even asked mods to delete a second post I started once I realised I had a few items and it was best to keep it all together.

Now bearing in mind I paid the same price as all the other gold members I get told today I CANNOT sell anything on passionford because once I was a Trader..

Now to start with I Dare say 80% of you peeps dont even know me as I recognise very few names on here therefore you probably dont even know I was a trader here let alone my company name.

I can understand the rule for someone going from a trader and then trying to sell the same items under a gold membership but my items are not related to items I supply in my day job or that I have ever listed forsale here.

Sorry for the RANT but feel very annoyed and to be honest ripped off.

I am a person with a personal interest and now being stopped from using a service I paid for.

You are most definitely not alone Danny. !
Even giving free stuff away got me warnings/infraction points

Still, the rules are there for all to see, like them or hate them but at least now they seem to be being applied fairly which was always my issue with the site.

All I will say is that there are other web sites

I personally wont be renewing my gold membership fee's here as I feel the place is far too much about making money and advertising one certain company rather than enthusiasm for Fords.

Expect this thread to dissappear......

Bummer.

If we didn't have so many jokers and rouge traders (mostly in the past) on here maybe situations like this wouldn't occur. Still, not your fault and you shouldn't be penalised for it.

Have you read through the T&C's?

If you can provide relevant evidence to confirm that you no longer trade said items are the Mods willing to reconsider their decision?

Big-Dan.

Thing is I have never traded said items.. I dont sell regular parts like suspension springs, tuning stuff or engines, never have. And people that know me know that and those that dont dont know I was ever a trader.

Like I have said can agree with the rule from someone going straight from trader to gold memebership and continuing as normal but I have even used the site much in the past few years. Prior to coming back my last actual post was on a thread where I GAVE an item to a charity cause on passionford so I have even contributed in other ways.

The rule would work with a 6 month time laps maybe.

WTF!!! Do they want this site to go down hill?

P.S If I ever need a rollcage or chassis fabrication I would use Adrenaline Race & Performance

P.P.S Thought it was only fair that you got something for your Ł5

We'll stop getting technical information if this treatment to traders carries on. It's dying out as it is

Crazy aint it.. Like I said above I can understand it within a timescale of say 6 months.

If I new this I would have started a new user name with the gold membership and left Danny b dormant.. I even asked this in my PM.

If anyone thinks its write please say I want all views on this.

There is even another Danny B on here so wonder if he gets stuff deleted as see he had quite a few forsales. Poor guy. Or maybe I am being mixed up with him... lol.

I can't see why you're being stopped danny.
Especially if you're not selling Adrenaline bits!

Even if they were Adrenaline parts, if you were just selling one of each and they were second hand I couldn't see why you should be stopped.

if, on the other had they're adrenaline parts and you were offering 5 of each (for example), then that qualifies as trading in my book.

100% agreed... I have a used beam to sell BUT new it would not be fair to put it on so i didnt. I will always be fair on that as that why I never renewed my companies trade membership years ago because of bedroom traders getting it for free.

IF I cant be a gold member as me then I want my money back. dont think thats unfair is it?

If your genuinely not a trader, and are selling your own, personal parts, i cant see what the problem is. there's inst a limit on how much gold members can sell as far as im aware.

It got me the other way round mate , i joined here in early 2003 when i was still racing , the business i run , was and is ,virtually completely remote from my passion for my old RS 500 and still is .I was forced to make the decision to trade on here to still view the website and paying for the privilege ,waste of my time and money too .

Although I am not the moderator who dealt with this I just copied and pasted this from the "Gold and Trader Accounts" page.

Please be advised that if you own a business in the automotive trade and wish to sell automotive parts or cars, we strongly advise you contact a moderator before doing so to check that you wont be in breach of our site trading policies. You may require a trade membership to do so.

By the way this is a general question and not aimed at the mods specifically which is why I posted it in the relevant forum and not here?
