new to this but you know aha,
i landed myself with a mk3 fiesta F reg, it has a 4speed gearbox and 1.1ltr engine.
i was wondering if any of you out there have ever tryed a gearbox swap to a 5speed, easy enough job to do or not? and any specific fiesta 5speed box ill need? i have use of my local ford garage so i have everything at my disposal appart from knowledge about actually doing it
any help would be apreciated!

 

Any 5speed Fezz box will fit.

I can't believe they fitted a 4 speed box to a mk3 festa, that's dreadful in light of when it was made!!
As said though, a 5 speed will fit, will need the remote linkage also, phone the fiesta centre(Norwich Norfolk), they normally very helpful with advice, you may also(not sure) need the under gearbox mount that attaches the mount to the subframe ?

thanks for the info! i have no idea why they decided 4speed but hey ho, i think the mount will be the same as another mk3 1.3ltr 5box should be the same but ill have to check, and would i just need a linkage for a 1.3 mk3 fez?
a few mk3 5box's on ebay so should be easy to get hold of
