Default Mates new motor

Me and all my mates are always competing with cars so when my mate said he mite be getting a new car to replace his evo 9 i couldnt wait to see what he showed up with, he kept it quiet until he rang me today and said do you want to go for a blast in my new car so i shot straight over and wasnt dissapointed. Enjoy......

very tempted. GREAT cars. Performance bargains. Just sensational cars!

HOWEVER they are very very big and very very heavy.

There ring times are incredible. BUT they cant do it all day.... they are very much one lap wonders. They get VERY hot and bothered. Gearboxes especially.

They are stupidly hard on tyres and brakes and they need to go back to dealers after every trackday as well! and dont even START looking at pranging one! look at the bonnet lifter thing saga! OMFG!

They are VERY VERY much more happy as fast road cars than trackcars. I have the red dancing donkey for fast road fun stuff which is just sooooooo much more of an 'event' to drive and feels much more special than the Datsun

So in the end.. I decided something lightweight, super reliable and easy on consumables and fun and rewarding to drive at slower speeds was way forward for my 2011 Ring chariot. So I bought a little white Lotus Exige S! am LOVING it so far. Takes lap after lap of abuse!

I definately have thought long and hard about GTR though! if only they did a convertable

Awesome looking car

Just don't prang it like this;

Or this will happen;

And it will cost you Ł11,000 to fix

They've got some kind of pyro-technic device in the hinge which snaps the hinges open, so it all needs to be replaced. Apparantely the ECU for all this needs replacing as well It's all in the thread!

Matty. You're fucked.

Guy reasonably local to me does the development work for the COBB stuff, John Banks... and he was saying that his car, with the Y-Pipe and Stage 1 re-flash does 30-70mph in 2.5 seconds. That's mind bendingly quick for a fully trimmed almost standard road car IMO.

Cheers,
Grant
