Evening all

i went for a drive today and my gearbox just doesnt feel right and it doesnt like coming out of 5th to come back down the gears

could it be the clutch or am i looking at a rebuild?

More likely the gearbox, not coming out of 5th is a classic sign of a worn BC box.
Worth checking your clutch cable etc. anyway of course.

 

As karlos said im afraid mate. If you don't mind getting close and personal with your spanners and only want a standard rebuild, a new bearing kit is Ł50.

Sounds like worn box to me m8, my old red one i had last year had same problem ended up not being able to use 3rd and 5th gear in the end so changed the box to a spare lsd one i had

went out in it today and it was fine so it must just be on long journeys when it gets abit hotter???

Not alot just some new rear light gaskets from finisfinder.com some metalmodz stainless dials with red background and now its sat in the drive with a cover over it feeling sorry for itself with no tax lol am thinking of getting some azev's for it they are 15's as dont want bigger than 15 or 16 inch

 

gav am rebuilding a S2 gearbox at the min, new bearings ect seals gaskets so on , if thats any use to you?

 

thanks for the offer mate im going to go with rebuilding mine i think just because i get that warranty and i know of a good place 5mins from where i live
