Hi im fitting an omp steering wheel to a friends fiesta and ive hit a snag

i got the old wheel off and im down to the steering wheel centre align bit and it seems to be fouling the boss so it wont come down all the way

i rang up demon tweeks to double check he has the right boss and he does apparently, and the guy at demon tweeks said that this bit needs either removing or modifying

dies this bit come off and if so how does it come off, if not has anyone got a guide to fitting it properly
