sorry usual post from me, i was having a nose today and opened my ecu to have a nice surprise of a evolution (MSD) chip inside with just a number on it.
im pretty sure ive got a T34.48 with greens, but i wanted to have it looked at properly to make sure it's running fine as i need to MOT the car asap.
anybody had one of stu boys set up their car in the past, good service?

If you ring stu/james @ msd and quote the number on the chip, they will tell you what the chip is for spec wise so you know it's right for the bits on your car.
The chips come with details on setting them, very easily checking the fuel pressure, adjusting the actuator etc, then setting the CO on the ecu, pretty std for all the chips.
The "set up" is like a safety check to ensure al is as it should be, ie fuel pressure not leaning off due to old wiring etc, running correct CO.

Hi,
As tabs rightly says, if you give us teh number we can tell you waht its for, with regards a setup though, you get a lot for your money even if I do say so myself.
Our engine tuning covers things like:

Our engine tuning covers things like:
- Compression pressure test.
- Cylinder Leakage Test (subject to above results).
- Intake system pressure check to 10psi. (More if forced Induction)
- Visual cam timing check.
- Spark plug condition and suitability.
- General ignition system check for condition and suitability.
- Spark timing.
- Fuel Phasing.
- Fuel pressure.
- Fuel pressure vacuum pull down.
- Fuel pressure positive increase. (Forced induction only)
- Fuel delivery at idle.
- Fuel delivery under cruising conditions.
- Boost pressure/s.
- ECU code analysis for errors logged and present.
- EOBD live Data stream analysis where applicable.
- Fuelling under heavy load in real conditions**
- Detonation Check under load in real conditions.

trouble is, i want it running 100% to get i through the mot before i can drive it too blackpool, well 90% so it passes the emissions, think a dam good service will sort it!
What makes you think the emissions may not /wont pass? As tabs has said if you have a good level of mechanics you could check certain major things yourself i.e an fuel pressure tests , and a CO test if possible etc then put it through an MOT ?
Is the car road legal at the moment ?

Ahh , well your best to try n check as much as you can prior for MOT and if your emissions are a problem then its time to spend the cash on having it setup by somebody . Msd are not the only people who could set the car up around the msd chip spec but obviously using them is a no brainer . If you need to transport it and keep costs down your central so wouldn,t be too bad i reckon especially when a good setup and check price is a bargain around the £150 initial cost with the top tuners
