would a tremec xr3r box like this work with a Yb?

Is it a stronger box and is it geared different at all?

It wouldn't be impossible to get it to work, but would need a one off bell housing, or adaptor, as it secures different to the T5, there are a minimum of 380 versions of the T5, it's even used on the SANG YONG MUSSO for example!!
The ratio's would be very widely spaced in comparison to a cossie T5, which you can get alternate gear kits for anyway.
As a financial proposition it's a no go, rebuilt T5 a lot better, financially and gearing wise.

what power are you aiming for? the t5 is a strong old box; most are run way above what they are supposed to be rated too!

 

Well 2.2 bar on a t34, Im just wondering if theres any other alternative box with differ ratios? Is their any 6 speed t5's?

 

dont over complicate something that doesnt need to be over compliated is my advise.

why do you want different ratios? what are you wanting it to drive like?

 

tko 600.they also do a 6 speed iirc. change your diff ratio if you want better acceleration.

 

bit overkill for a t34 though dont you think? and bloody expensive

madrod runs a tko600, but then he does have over 800hp

 

Id just stick with the T5....They take plenty of abuse that a T34 can throw at them.

 

exactlly, I was wondering if there was a 6 speed varient which would be cool as fook to be honest, and different to every other road going useable saph, plus might not cost much as cossie t5's are getting expensive now days!

Example at 7200 rpm what speed would you be doing in 1st to 5th?

i suppose it is. iirc they are about £1700 just for the box. how many people stay at the horsepower they have. not many! fit and forget.
