Default RST S2 engine bay resto UPDATE 09/06/05

well... I'm the kind of guy that dont let my RST out in the winter.... so I had to find something to spend my time on.. and when the car was restoret a few years ago, not much attention was payed to the engine bay... So now is the time... and then I thought to my self.. why not do the bumbers to.. just to ad a little change to the old girl....

I started the work bout a month ago.. but I dont work on it everyday... so I cant promise you daily update..

well.... I have pretty much space to carry out the work

this is how it loocked like when I started

first.. starting to remove all the easy bits... lights, cooler, rad, e.c.t

headertank, ECU, heater e.c.t removed.. still easy parts

turbo gone... hmm.. can anyone help me?? did I have a leaky exhaust manifold gasket

few more bits removed... engine almost ready to go out

dont worry... got it under control

suspension, brakes, driveshaft gone... and engine 15min from being out of the car

15mins later

more to follow

Default Started on the bumbers

Now I finally got started on my bumbers... cant wait to se them finished

still in pretty condition... its only 2 years since I had it painted

list removed

A bit enthusiastic perhaps

Bought my front bumber second hand and had it painted... but the bloke that fitted the splitter, had done a terrible job... so shortly after it was painted, it looked shite so I had to grind it all down, and start from the beginning

Used a rather powerful tool to, "grind" , the bumbers down, were the list had been..

will start to fill the bumbers in a couple of days... so... update will follow

Default :-)

Just picked this up the other day
Its a org t3, but with a 63 exhaust housing, uprated compresser housing, and modified blades for better flow, and 360 bearings..
Its a Trim 60 t3... so basicly its a Grp. A. turbo

The modified compresser housing

What a difference

I thought I had a pretty good condition S2, BUT, when you take it apart, you find all the thing that have been hiding, but still.. It could be worse

Ready to go to the paintshop

My helpful dad... tanx

This is for me the turning point... GOT IT PAINTET.. now all there is left, is to put it all back together

WELL.. I havent got around to post some pictures for a while... but here are some.. this is were I am at now...

My alternator were looking pretty bad..

So I took it apart, and sandblasted the housing and painted the other thing.. and it came out looking like this

Just before I put the car away for the winter, my alternator (due to bad engine/gearbos mounts) cut a hole in my buttom waterhose

but luckely, one of my freinds had a solution to that problem
