Fronts, are easier, however you need a "Spring Compressor" to fit the springs to the damper. Rears are the hardest if wanting to change springs as you need the car suspended without using a jack etc as you need to drop the rear beam, the back shock absorbers are easier, however when removing the old ones put something under each trailing arm as when removed it will drop and you won't be able to refit it again easily as you need something to to lift up again the weight and spring pressure whilst trying to refit the shock! You will need to remove the carpet at the side in the boot as this is where the top mount is for the shock.

Got my fronts to do when I get new springs but I am told you also need an "Impact Wrench" to undo the top mount nut otherwise it will turn the shock with it.

I found it easy to swap the suspension. Straightforward unbolting of one lot and bolting the new stuff up. Rear springs aren't too bad - I levered mine out.

You're putting the Konis on and taking standard stuff off?

Can you not use a swan neck spanner and a allen key?

Like I say I have never touched the fronts, just the rears, I actually have an impact wrench so I will be ok, it's just what I have been told by someone. Don't know about using spanner and allen key?

Charlie no mate I am actually going the other way round, brought the car with Konis, one back one went so have now fitted standard shocks at the back, want to get standard shocks at the front and all new springs (Will be std) I spoke to someone else and they said they levered there springs out as well, I presume you still need to loosen something to do this?

I believe that if you have the bottom of the shock undone the trailing arm hangs low enough.

Changing from Konis to standard should all be straightforward. 10 mins per rear corner and more time at the front. The biggest hassle is getting the front Konis out of the knuckle, and the new one in. Oh, I forgot about the front TCA/ARB bit - that can be a pain getting it all squeezed in with poly bushes. A two man job if you have a mate.

Seem to remember a ratchet strap somewhere to add some muscle to reconnect the front ARB? My memory is crap.
