Default Ford Puma

Hey all, i hope this is the right place to put my Ford Puma.

This is the 3rd Ford i have had.

I was wondering how i would go about modifying it, i understand the basics of modifying an engine but i never got along with the Ford MAF sensor.

I know those Ebay resistors dont do nothing, but is there anything i can do to remove it?

I always start with the induction side, then exhaust then cams and so on.

Can anyone help me with improving the induction on my Puma

Thanks

Also, has anyone got any pictures of a lowered Puma from 30-40-50-60-70mm?

Iv seen lowering springs on Ebay which are 75/50.

I plan on keeping 15s with 195 50 15. But will be 75mm on the front be to low?

warren penalver has a puma cos that may give you some ideas on the exterior, i also remember reading an article few years ago on a hill climb puma that was an awesome looking car
what colour is your car
maybe a set of comps, and a slight drop
think its a fiesta shell with coupe body so most running gear should be the same

One of our members did an excellent guide to modifying a Puma on my forum:

Good luck

Cheers for that guys, but unfortunitly not much on the old MAF, if its removed, doesnt the engine know its removed/broke and run it at a set setting? And after reading that modifying guide im tempted by the 1.6/1.7 inlet manifold BUT being alloy it would get more heat soak than plastic. Does anyone have any pictures of modified engines? Iv seen this 4bar standard FPR, so no need to add any more in the bay, im just thinking if it will improve low end performance?

That would be great.

Thanks all.

Thats rather sexual lol, il have to stick with the 1.4 for now. But there is always room for improvement..

Are there any cheap bolt on upgrades for the 1.4?

Hi All, another Puma boy here, in the process of squeezing a set of ST150 seats in it (front and back) so should be the only 5 seat Puma around. I'll post some pics when its finished.

Are you going to add extra anchoring points for the 5th middle seat then?

Have fun explaining that to your insurers.. lol

Reason I went for the newer seats is the middle reel is integrated into the seat back, will use the chassis mount point for the twin stork.
Checked with Flux before starting, and they said as long as I tell them that the seating capacity has changed so they can update the policy no problem and no extra charge or testing required!!
Been taking pics along the way so I'll do a project thread on your forum if it works out (I'm JonB there).
