Default bmw 316 TI CAT?

Merry Christmas every1

need a bit of help

The bro in law has just rung me to say that his engine managment light is on and the car is running like a bag of poo under 2000rpm!

Its a E46 316 TI (1.8)

well we was out in it the other day and it felt restricted ie. not breathing properly so i stuck it on the launch machine and it came up with no errors what so ever, so i took it out for one of my special drive it like you stole it tests!

when i got back and only a short run, the CAT was really stinking.

Hes also complained about high fuel consumption!!

I know CATS will play up this time of year due to weather but i'm really thinking that it may need changing

so has any1 come accross this before or does any1 know where i can get a de-cat pipe from?

Cheers hope your all having a good day

Tony

sounds like you've found the problem; just buy a new cat part of the exhaust - should last a few years, unless you really want a decat pipe?
