Default Car Cutting Out

Hi;

After turning off my Focus earlier today running fine it would not start, all lights come on but nothing when I turned the key. Tried three times no joy, then the wife jumped in and it started first time. Then later today whilst parking the car just cut out and would not start, lights all on but nothing when I turned the key, checked the battery electrolyte and connections, fuses and relays and any visible cabling, jumped back in the car and it fired up.

Is this an immobilizer or engine management problem or just the cold?

You'll see if it is a immobiliser issue from the light behaviour, if it is wipe the key with a damp cloth, may be a bit static interfering.
