Default Insurance question

Hey guys, wondering if anyone can help.

I've been saving up to get an S2 RS Turbo, and come February/march I should hopefully have a budget of around £2.5 - £3k. I have a fabia vrs as a daily drive which will be insured all year round, my question is...

Can I insure the rs turbo for weekend use only? Like friday pm til Sunday midnight or Saturday and Sunday only. My other option is to insure it for a 6 month period during the show season then tuck it away during the winter.

What you guys think?

I should have said, can I insure it for fire and theft on weekdays and fully comp on weekends where it will be driven?

I know this sounds cheap but I'm a 2nd year apprentice so trying to save money where I can.

prob be quite dificult to get a custom policy like that but a limited millage classic policy would probably suit you.

Who would be the best to get a classic car policy with? I turn 21 next week and the most I'm willing to pay is £1k.

Give HIC a bell mate and ask about classic policies. They sorted mine out, mods covered up to 320bhp (just need to notify of additional modifications) roll cage and agreed value of £6k and it cost me £450 comprehensive.

I will do mate cheers. Got quoted £1500 to insure it fully comp with admiral. So hopefully a classic policy should be cheaper.

Don't forget to update us with any info on the Classic Policy quotes you're getting mate, I'm keen to see the difference that it will make compared to your Admiral quote.

Cheers,
Grant

Admiral are dog shit, these are specialist cars and need specialist insurers. Forget all of the main stream insurers and stick with the likes of HIC, SKY, BRENTACRE etc

did you speak to Paul B at need2insure ??

He is well into his ford, has a couple of series ones's and is on a few of the sites, especially www.seriesoneturbo.co.uk

You will be looking at a classic car policy with a limited mileage (example 2 - 5k a year) and will be able to use it anytime you like.

You wont earn NCD with the policy, or be able to use them as they will be used against you everyday car policy but he does take it into consideration iirc.

Trust me mate, Paul is a top guy, I was paying £185 a year fully comp, 5k value and 5k milage on an S1.

Give him a call and dont sounds like a race head geezer on the phone, more an appreciative ford lover.
