Default TRansit sportvan Stereo gone batsh!t

got in my van today and column control for radio wouldnt control stereo, then 5 mins later radio starts carrying out the commands i did with the column control but with no control over the stereo via facia buttons

then it decides to only play cd6 (6-player unit) but in fast forward mode, then i switch it of it will switch back on and play only cd6 i have no control at all now....

is it just the cold that has got to it and will eventually right itself or am i gonna have to bin it and dig out my multimedia alpine setup from the garage to install now

can anyone shen any light please

Ta

it's normally caused by the cold, i know loads of ford radio's, especially the 6 disc models that do this

is this the same as the mondeo one or is it the earlier version with the removable front security panel?

if you've got the code just unplug it and leave it out for a while

the car stereo went a bit loopy yesterday after being in the cold, but once it warmed up it was fine

i would probably go with the "condesnation inside the unit has fried it" theory if pushed, but you can get new ones for about £50 off of ebay
